Tracie
Version 1.0.0-alpha · in Tinkerie 1.5.2-alphaAlphaSee what your board is saying, and the signals on its wires.
When your Arduino or ESP32 prints messages, Tracie shows them, and turns any numbers into live graphs automatically. With a cheap 8-channel logic analyser it also records the digital signals on your wires and decodes them into readable bytes.
You'll need: A board on USB, or a cheap logic analyser (demo included).
Try this first
Try the DEMO board
Pick DEMO in the port list and press Connect. No hardware needed.
Watch the plotter
Lines like temp:21.5,hum:40 are graphed by themselves.
Send a command
Type at the bottom, or use the quick buttons like LED on.
Try Logic
The Logic tab has a demo signal generator with UART, I²C, SPI and PWM.

Features
Serial monitor
Better than the Arduino one.
- Ports show each board's USB chip (Arduino, ESP32, Pico, CH340, CP210x, FTDI…)
- Any baud rate, plus DTR/RTS and a Reset board button
- Reconnects by itself when boards like the ESP32-S3 and Pico reset
- Timestamps, ESP-IDF colours, search and command history
- Hex view, quick command buttons and CSV logging
Live plotter
Graphs from plain printed numbers.
- Prints like temp:21.5,hum:40 or 1.2 3.4 5.6 are graphed automatically
- Shared or stacked axes, windows from 5 seconds to 5 minutes
Logic analyser
For the cheap 24 MHz 8-channel analysers.
- Sample rates from 20 kHz to 24 MHz, up to 100 million samples
- Triggers on high, low, rising, falling or any edge
- Decoders for UART, I²C and SPI, with a searchable list
- Cursors and measurements: frequency, period, duty cycle
- Export to VCD (PulseView, GTKWave), CSV or PNG
One timeline
Everything lines up.
- Serial lines, plotted values and logic channels on one zoomable timeline
- Logic captures show the serial messages alongside
Good to know
Logic analysers need a one-time setup: a USB driver on Windows (Zadig) and the free fx2lafw firmware, which Tracie finds automatically if PulseView is installed. On Linux and Raspberry Pi, run install-usb.sh once instead.
